Best Holiday Lights Displays in Cedar Park (2023)

Our family, like many others, has a long standing tradition of driving around searching for the Best Holiday Lights Displays in Cedar Park and around the Austin Metro each year. It’s one of the highlights of the season!

There are many homes in Cedar Park displaying Christmas lights, but there are a few that really stand out and draw a crowd each night. Parking can be tricky, especially on the cul-de-sac streets. Luckily we have the benefit of fairly mild winter weather here in Cedar Park. So, pack up the stroller or the wagon, bundle up and take a little walk. Generally parking one or two streets away will give you plenty of parking options. And walking is so much better than a drive by look because you can linger and admire each and every detail.

Butch Gap Cove
Over 300,000 lights all set to music and 12 houses that participating on Butch Gap Cove. There is a loop of music that lasts about 30 minutes. 12 songs in the loop one night & 13 the following night. One house has a screen above the garage with little video clips too. You can stay in your car or get out & walk around on Butch Gap Cove. Not far off of 1431 & Lakeline Blvd with plenty of street parking. It runs from 5:30-10 PM every night (midnight Friday and Saturday) until January 1st.

Cedar Park’s Largest Live Oak Tree
The City of Cedar Park’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony was held 12/3. This come-and-go photo opportunity will be happening December 3 – January 3. Bring your family and walk around Heritage Oak Park and see the tree lit with thousands of twinkly lights. Santa’s sleigh will be setup and ready for your backdrop! Where: Heritage Oak Park (875 Quest Parkway) When: December 3 – January 3, come when it’s dark for the best photos!

Chinati Court Light Display
Thislively cul-de-sac show of lights presented by all the neighbors on Chinati Courtis one of Cedar Park’s best light shows. There isn’t one detail missing in this spectacular display of lights and themed decorations. Don’t miss special appearances by Santa himself on Saturday evenings. Nativity Scene made by Cedar Park resident in the Shenandoah neighborhood is open for public view again this year.

Listen to Our Lights
The Storm family of Cedar Park have been synchronizing lights to music since 2010 in their Listen to our Lights show.In fact, John has become such an expert that he taught a set of classes called “Sequencing Fun and Easy” at the 2015Christmas Expo. The downside is this display is a neighbors only show due to the large volume of traffic it would bring if theypublicize the address. However, you can watch this year’s and years past shows on their YouTube Channeland you can also get some great How To Tips on his website.

Lone Star Light Show
Look for the Lone Star Light Show on Lone Star Drive in Cedar Park. The Mendoza family, new residents to Cedar Park, are adding their spectacular music and light show to the list this year. Their display features a 16’ tall Mega tree, Singing Santa, dancing snowflakes, jumping arches, snowmen, rain deer, giant ornaments, blow ups and tons of wrapped trees help make this display interesting and exciting! The first song starts at 6:00 and run back to back with a 15 second pause in between. All lights are run and full synchronized to 13 songs, via special lighting software. New songs and display items are usually added throughout December, so you are sure to see or hear something new on each visit! Lights will run through December 31st.

As ex-CASA volunteers, the family has teamed up with CASA of Williamson County to help spread the word for their cause. 100% of your generous donations will help abused and neglected kids get the help and resources they deserve! Feel free to drop your donations into the red donation box on the left side of the fence. They also have a link to Donate Online if you can’t make it in person to the show.

Rhodes Family Christmas
The Rhodes Family goes all out each year to make their light show bigger and better. This spectacular display starts Thanksgiving night and runs through January 1st.Donations are accepted and 100% of the proceeds will go to the Cedar Park/Leander food bank. Luminations at Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center – Take a walk through this illuminated Texas Arboretum featuring thousands of luminaries, holiday treats and lit-up Fortlandia forts.
